Buying Out of State?
You Found the Car. Now Let's Get It Home.
Buying a car online opens up the whole country. The exact trim and color you want, a better price, a cleaner history. The catch is that the car is in another state, and you're not.
You could fly out and drive it back, but that's a plane ticket, a couple of days, and a long drive in a car you just met. Our auto delivery service skips all of that. A carrier picks up the car from the seller and delivers it to your door.
We pick up from dealerships, private sellers, and auction lots all over the lower 48.
We Pick Up From
- Franchise and independent dealerships
- Private sellers
- Auto auctions
- Online car retailers
- Rental and fleet sales lots
Who You're Buying From
How Delivery Works by Seller Type
Each kind of seller has its own steps at pickup. Here's what to expect.
| Seller | What Happens at Pickup | What You Should Do |
|---|---|---|
| Dealership | A salesperson or porter hands over the keys and signs the Bill of Lading. | Tell the dealer the car is being shipped and who to expect. Ask them to have it washed and ready. |
| Private seller | The seller meets the driver, hands over the keys, and inspects the car with them. | Pay for the car and settle the title before pickup. Make sure the seller knows the pickup window. |
| Auto auction | The driver presents a release or gate pass to get the car off the lot. | Send us the release paperwork and lot details right after you win. |
| Online retailer | Pickup works like a dealership, from their lot or reconditioning center. | Check whether they offer their own delivery first, then compare. |
The title and bill of sale are between you and the seller. They don't travel with the shipment.
At Delivery
Inspect Before You Sign
When the car arrives, you and the driver walk around it together and compare it to the condition report from pickup, the Bill of Lading.
This is especially important when you're buying sight unseen. The BOL shows the condition the car was in when it left the seller. If something is different when it arrives, it has to be written on the BOL before you sign, or it's very hard to prove later.
If you notice something that was already there at pickup, that's a conversation with the seller, not the carrier. That's another reason to get detailed photos from the seller before you buy.
Buying Sight Unseen? Do This
- 1Get lots of photos and a video from the seller.
- 2Ask for a vehicle history report.
- 3Consider a pre-purchase inspection near the seller.
- 4Settle payment and title before pickup.
- 5Inspect carefully against the BOL at delivery.

FAQ
Auto Delivery Service FAQs
Can you deliver a car I bought online from another state?
Yes. We pick up from dealerships, private sellers, online retailers, and auctions across the lower 48 and deliver door-to-door.
Does someone need to be at pickup if I'm buying from a private seller?
Yes. Someone 18 or older needs to be there to hand over the keys and sign the Bill of Lading. That's usually the seller.
Can you pick up a car from an auction?
Yes. Send us the release or gate pass and the lot details after you win, and the driver will use it to pick up the car.
Do you handle the title or registration?
No. The title, bill of sale, and registration are between you and the seller and your state DMV. We handle getting the car from point A to point B.
What if the car has damage when it arrives?
Compare it to the Bill of Lading from pickup. If something is new, write it on the BOL before you sign so it can be handled through the carrier's insurance. If the damage was already there at pickup, that's an issue to take up with the seller.
Can you ship a car that doesn't run?
Yes. Non-running vehicles can be winched onto the truck. Just let us know when you request a quote.
Is my car insured during transport?
Yes. Every carrier we work with is required to carry active cargo insurance. Your vehicle's condition is documented on the Bill of Lading at pickup and checked again at delivery. Personal items left in the vehicle are not covered.
Do I have to pay upfront?
No. There's $0 due at booking. Once a carrier is assigned, you can either pay a small deposit and the remaining balance directly to the driver at delivery, or pay in full at that point so nothing is due at delivery.
