Which One Do You Need?
Pick the Service That Fits Your Car
Most people only need one thing: get the car from here to there safely, at a fair price. For that, standard open, door-to-door transport is the answer about nine times out of ten.
But there are good reasons to choose something else. A classic car might need an enclosed trailer. A tight deadline might call for expedited service. A dealer moving a dozen cars needs something different from a family moving one.
Here's how all of our automobile transport services compare.

| Service | Best For | Cost | Good to Know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open Auto Transport | Most cars on most routes | Lowest | How most cars ship. Exposed to weather, like driving. |

| Door-to-Door Shipping | Everyone | Included | Every shipment we book is door-to-door. |
| Expedited Car Shipping | Hard deadlines | Higher | Priority carrier matching for faster pickup. |
| Snowbird Car Shipping | Seasonal moves between two homes | Varies by season | Book early for fall south and spring north. |
| Dealership Auto Transport | Dealers, auctions, dealer trades | Varies | Pickups from lots and auctions nationwide. |
| Fleet Relocation | Businesses moving multiple vehicles | Varies | Multiple vehicles coordinated together. |
The Big Decision
Open vs. Enclosed: How to Decide
This is the choice most people actually have to make. Open transport puts your car on an uncovered carrier with other vehicles. It's safe, it's how new cars get to dealerships, and it's the most affordable option.
Enclosed transport puts your car inside a covered trailer, out of the weather and away from road debris. It costs more and there are fewer trucks, but for some cars it's worth every penny.
A simple rule of thumb: if you'd be comfortable driving the car the same distance, open is fine. If you wouldn't, go enclosed.
Choose Enclosed If
- It's a classic, exotic, or collector car
- It has low ground clearance
- It has custom paint or a fresh restoration
- It's going to a show or an auction
- It's shipping through winter road salt
Special Cases
Vehicles That Need a Little Extra
We handle these all the time. Just mention them when you request a quote.
Non-Running Vehicles
Cars that don't run can be winched onto the truck. Let us know up front so the right carrier is assigned.
Oversized Vehicles
Lifted trucks, duallys, RVs, and commercial vehicles can be shipped with a custom quote based on size and weight.
Modified & Low Cars
Low ground clearance and modifications are no problem with the right equipment, often an enclosed trailer with a lift gate.

FAQ
Automobile Transport Services FAQs
What types of automobile transport services are there?
The main ones are open transport, enclosed transport, door-to-door shipping, expedited shipping, snowbird shipping, dealership transport, and fleet relocation. Most people need standard open, door-to-door transport.
What's the difference between open and enclosed car shipping?
Open transport carries your car on an uncovered truck with other vehicles and costs less. Enclosed transport keeps your car inside a covered trailer, protected from weather and debris, and costs more.
Do you offer terminal-to-terminal shipping?
No. Every shipment we book is door-to-door. If a carrier can't safely reach your address, the driver will meet you at a nearby spot with plenty of room.
How do I know which service I need?
If it's an everyday car and you're flexible on timing, open transport is the best value. For classic, exotic, or low cars, choose enclosed. If you have a firm deadline, ask about expedited.
Can you ship a vehicle that doesn't run?
Yes. Non-running vehicles can be winched onto the truck. Let us know when you request a quote.
Is my car insured during transport?
Yes. Every carrier we work with is required to carry active cargo insurance. Your vehicle's condition is documented on the Bill of Lading at pickup and checked again at delivery. Personal items left in the vehicle are not covered.
Do I have to pay upfront?
No. There's $0 due at booking. Once a carrier is assigned, you can either pay a small deposit and the remaining balance directly to the driver at delivery, or pay in full at that point so nothing is due at delivery.
