Here's something people find out the hard way. Most household moving companies won't put your car on the truck with your furniture. They're set up for boxes and couches, not vehicles.
That leaves you with two choices. Drive the car yourself, which means days on the road in the middle of an already stressful move. Or hire a vehicle mover to ship it separately.
That's what we do. We arrange a car carrier to pick up your vehicle at your old address and deliver it to your new one, and we work around your moving dates so you're not stuck without a car.

Can I Pack Stuff in My Car?
It's tempting to use the trunk as an extra moving box. We generally recommend against it, but a little is allowed: up to 100 pounds of personal items, packed in the trunk or below the window line.
Keep in mind that personal items aren't covered by insurance if they're lost or damaged, and carriers can charge extra or decline a car that's packed too full. Anything valuable, fragile, or that you'll need right away should go with you or with your household movers.

Will my moving company move my car?
Usually not on the same truck as your furniture. Most household movers aren't set up to haul cars, so you'll typically need a separate vehicle shipping company, or you'll have to drive the car yourself.
When should I book my car shipment for a move?
About 3 to 4 weeks ahead is ideal, especially in summer. The earlier you book, the better your chance of getting a carrier that matches your dates.
How do I time my car's arrival with my move?
Have the car picked up a few days before you leave, so it's on the road while you finish up. A flexible pickup window of a few days makes it much easier to line up a carrier.
Can I ship two cars at the same time?
Yes. Let us know when you request a quote, and we'll try to get both cars on the same truck if your pickup and delivery addresses match.
Can I put things in my car when I ship it?
We generally recommend against it, but up to 100 pounds of personal items is allowed in the trunk or below the window line. Those items aren't covered by insurance.
Do I need to be there for pickup and delivery?
Someone needs to be there at both ends, but it doesn't have to be you. Any trusted person 18 or older can hand over the keys and sign the Bill of Lading.
Is my car insured during transport?
Yes. Every carrier we work with is required to carry active cargo insurance. Your vehicle's condition is documented on the Bill of Lading at pickup and checked again at delivery. Personal items left in the vehicle are not covered.
Do I have to pay upfront?
No. There's $0 due at booking. Once a carrier is assigned, you can either pay a small deposit and the remaining balance directly to the driver at delivery, or pay in full at that point so nothing is due at delivery.
