Shipping a Car From Montana to Utah
Bozeman to Salt Lake City is about 505 miles, straight down I-15. Logan is around 415, Ogden about 470, Park City close to 535, Missoula to Salt Lake roughly 540, Bozeman to Provo about 550, and St. George around 805. Most cars arrive 1 to 3 days after pickup.
Montana to Utah moves are usually job relocations to Salt Lake and Utah County, students at Utah, Utah State, and BYU, and snowbirds wintering in St. George. I-15 carries trucks every day. Monida Pass in winter is the main thing to plan around.

Timing
When to Ship Montana to Utah
Mountain passes and the snowbird calendar set the timing.
Montana Winter
From November through March, snow on the passes and in the mountain valleys can push a pickup back a day or more. We'll plan around the forecast.
Snowbird Season
October and November fill up with Montanans heading south for the winter, and April and May bring them home. Book two to three weeks ahead.
Monida Pass
Snow on I-15 at the Montana–Idaho line can hold a truck a few hours in winter.
Summer
The busiest time for moves. Book a week or two ahead.

Mountain Roads
Park City and canyon homes often mean meeting at a lot.

Before You Ship & After You Arrive
What to know before your car heads to Utah.
Registering in Utah
New residents have 60 days to register with the Utah DMV. Out-of-state vehicles need a VIN inspection, and several Wasatch Front counties require emissions testing. Check dmv.utah.gov for current requirements.
Park City Deliveries
Steep, winding roads in Park City and Deer Valley aren't safe for a loaded carrier. Plan to meet at a lot in town.
Utah Emissions
Cars registered in Salt Lake, Davis, Utah, and Weber counties need emissions testing on a set schedule.
Bozeman, Big Sky, and Helena Pickups
Bozeman and Belgrade are on I-90, and Helena is up I-15. Big Sky and mountain homes are up steep canyon roads that a loaded carrier can't climb, especially in winter, so plan to meet in Bozeman or at a lot near the interstate.
