Georgia to Connecticut Auto Transport

Shipping a Car From Georgia to Connecticut

Atlanta to Hartford is about 960 miles, up I-85 and I-95 through the Carolinas and Virginia. Stamford is closer to 850, and Savannah to New Haven is around 880. It's two to three days of driving.

This is a submarine route. Sailors and families move between Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in St. Marys and Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, and the Electric Boat shipyard draws engineers, too. We also ship for Atlanta finance and insurance professionals heading to Hartford and Fairfield County, and students at Yale, UConn, and the Coast Guard Academy.

Door-to-door, a final-price quote, and $0 due at booking.

Pricing

How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From Georgia to Connecticut?

Here's what moves the price between Georgia and Connecticut.

Distance

Fairfield County is about 850 miles from Atlanta. Eastern Connecticut is closer to 1,000.

A Busy Lane

I-85 and I-95 carry heavy truck traffic, which keeps prices competitive.

Snowbird Demand

Spring northbound trips cost more. Fall is often the best value.

City vs. Suburb

Suburban driveways are simple. Older streets in New Haven and Hartford may need a meeting spot.

Vehicle Size

Pickups and full-size SUVs take more trailer space than sedans, so they cost more to ship.

Date Flexibility

A flexible window helps during the spring rush.

Good to Know

Before You Ship & After You Arrive

A few Connecticut-specific things worth knowing.

Registering in Connecticut

New residents have 60 days to register with the CT DMV. Out-of-state vehicles need a VIN verification, and most cars need an emissions test every two years. Check portal.ct.gov/dmv for current requirements. Snowbirds who stay Connecticut residents just keep their Connecticut registration.

Moving With the Navy

We ship for submariners and families moving from Kings Bay to Groton, and for engineers heading to Electric Boat.

Base Housing Pickups

Kings Bay has rules for commercial trucks. We'll work with you on a gate or a nearby meeting spot in St. Marys or Kingsland.

Georgia Pickups

Busy metro Atlanta apartment complexes, gated subdivisions with HOA truck rules, and the narrow historic streets of downtown Savannah can keep a big carrier off your street. If so, the driver will set up a nearby meeting spot, usually a lot just off I-285, I-75, I-85, I-20, I-16, or I-95.

The Process

How It Works

Simple, transparent, and nothing due until a carrier is on the way.

  1. 1

    Request Your Quote

Give us your Georgia pickup address, your Connecticut delivery address, the vehicle, and your dates. You get a final price, good for 7 days.

  2. 2

    Book With $0 Down

Nothing is due when you book. We match your vehicle with a vetted carrier that has room on a truck headed to Connecticut.

  3. 3

    Carrier Dispatched

Once a carrier is assigned, a deposit (or full payment, if you prefer) secures your spot. The driver inspects your car with you at pickup and notes its condition on the Bill of Lading.

  4. 4

    Delivered & Inspected

Look your car over with the driver in Connecticut, sign off, and pay any remaining balance directly to the driver by cash or check.

Most cars need one every two years, and out-of-state vehicles need a VIN verification when you register.
