Louisiana to Mississippi Auto Transport

Shipping a Car From Louisiana to Mississippi

New Orleans to Jackson is about 185 miles, straight up I-55. New Orleans to Gulfport is only around 75, Hattiesburg about 110, Monroe to Jackson close to 120, Baton Rouge to Jackson roughly 170, Shreveport to Jackson about 215 on I-20, Oxford around 340, and Tupelo near 360. Most cars arrive the same day or the next.

Louisiana and Mississippi are next-door neighbors, and these are some of the shortest trips we run. People book them when they're moving with two cars, sending a car to a student at Ole Miss or Southern Miss, or buying a car across the state line. Storm season and SEC weekends matter more than miles here.

Timing

When to Ship Louisiana to Mississippi

Gulf weather and football weekends shape the calendar.

Hurricane Season

From June through November, a Gulf storm can delay a Louisiana pickup a day or more. If one is in the forecast, we'll reschedule around it.

SEC Game Days

Oxford and Starkville fill up on home football weekends. Weekday delivery is easier.

Coast Summer

Gulfport and Biloxi beach traffic picks up on summer weekends. Weekdays are smoother.

Spring and Fall

Usually the smoothest windows.

Pricing

How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From Louisiana to Mississippi?

On a trip this short, distance hardly matters to the price.

Short-Haul Pricing

Loading takes the same time on a 100-mile trip as a long one, so per-mile rates run higher.

Coast vs. North Mississippi

Gulfport and Hattiesburg are a quick run. Oxford and Tupelo add about 200 miles.

Rural Delivery

Delta and Piney Woods towns off the interstates may mean meeting in town.

Vehicle Size

Pickups and SUVs take more trailer space than a sedan.

Open or Enclosed

Open is standard. Enclosed is available for classics.

Multiple Cars

Moving two vehicles? One carrier can often take both.

Good to Know

Before You Ship & After You Arrive

What to know before your car heads to Mississippi.

Registering in Mississippi

New residents have 30 days to title and register at the county tax collector's office. Mississippi doesn't require a safety or emissions inspection. Check dor.ms.gov for current requirements.

Coastal Condos

Beachfront condos in Biloxi and Gulfport rarely have room for a carrier. Plan to meet on US-90 or at a nearby lot.

Ole Miss and Southern Miss Students

Campus neighborhoods in Oxford and Hattiesburg are tight, and game days are packed. Pick a nearby lot and make sure the student is there to sign.

New Orleans and Northshore Pickups

The French Quarter, Marigny, Uptown, and Mid-City have narrow streets, low oak limbs, and curbside parking that a full-size car hauler can't get through. Metairie, Kenner, and the Northshore suburbs around Mandeville and Covington are usually easier. If your street won't work, the driver will meet you at a nearby lot off I-10, I-610, or I-12.

The Process

How It Works

Simple, transparent, and nothing due until a carrier is on the way.

  1. 1

    Request Your Quote

Give us your Louisiana pickup address, your Mississippi delivery address, the vehicle, and your dates. You get a final price, good for 7 days.

  2. 2

    Book With $0 Down

Nothing is due when you book. We match your vehicle with a vetted carrier that has room on a truck headed to Mississippi.

  3. 3

    Carrier Dispatched

Once a carrier is assigned, a deposit (or full payment, if you prefer) secures your spot. The driver inspects your car with you at pickup and notes its condition on the Bill of Lading.

  4. 4

    Delivered & Inspected

Look your car over with the driver in Mississippi, sign off, and pay any remaining balance directly to the driver by cash or check.

Louisiana to Mississippi Car Shipping FAQs

How long does it take to ship a car from Louisiana to Mississippi?

Usually the same day or the next day after pickup.

How much does it cost to ship a car from Louisiana to Mississippi?

It depends on your exact addresses, the vehicle, open or enclosed, and the season. Request a quote for a final price, good for 7 days.

Does Mississippi require a vehicle inspection?

No. Unlike Louisiana, Mississippi has no safety or emissions inspection. You'll register at your county tax collector's office.

Why ship a car such a short distance?

If you're moving two cars with one driver, shipping one saves a round trip and an extra day.

Can you deliver to a student at Ole Miss?

Yes. We'll set up a meeting spot near campus and avoid game days when possible.

Can you ship a car from Mississippi back to Louisiana?

Yes. Request a quote with your Mississippi pickup address and your Louisiana delivery address. Every shipment is door-to-door.

Is my car insured during transport?

Yes. Every carrier we work with must carry active cargo insurance. Your car's condition is recorded on the Bill of Lading at pickup and checked again at delivery. Personal items left in the car aren't covered.

Do I have to pay upfront?

No. There's $0 due at booking. Once a carrier is assigned, you can pay a deposit and the balance to the driver at delivery by cash or check, or pay in full at that point.
