Timing
When to Ship Louisiana to Texas
Gulf storms and city traffic shape the calendar.
Hurricane Season
From June through November, a Gulf storm can delay pickups in Louisiana and deliveries in Houston, Freeport, and along the coast.
Houston and Dallas Traffic
Rush hour on I-10, I-45, and I-635 can add hours. Drivers time deliveries around it.
Game Days
Baton Rouge and College Station are packed on home football Saturdays. Weekday pickup and delivery are easier.
Spring and Fall
Usually the smoothest windows.
Pricing
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From Louisiana to Texas?
On a trip this short, distance hardly matters to the price.
Short-Haul Pricing
Loading takes the same time on a 200-mile trip as a long one, so per-mile rates run higher.
Houston vs. Dallas vs. Central Texas
Houston is closest from South Louisiana and Dallas from Shreveport. Austin and San Antonio add a few hours.
Storage or Port Prep
Need your car held at our Freeport lot before it ships out of Port Freeport? We'll quote the storage along with the transport.
Suburban HOAs
Katy, The Woodlands, Frisco, and many other suburbs restrict big trucks.

Multiple Cars
Moving two vehicles? One carrier can often take both.
Your Quote Is Your Final Price
Texas is home for us, and we price these routes to move. What we quote is what you pay, with nothing due until a carrier is assigned.

Before You Ship & After You Arrive
What to know before your car heads to Texas.
Registering in Texas
New residents have 30 days to register with their county tax office. Texas ended safety inspections for most passenger vehicles in 2025, but emissions testing still applies in the major metro counties. Check txdmv.gov for current requirements.
Vehicle Storage & Port Freeport
Need somewhere to keep your car, or shipping it overseas? We can store vehicles at our lot in Freeport, Texas, and get them ready to go to Port Freeport to be shipped.
Suburban Neighborhoods
Katy, Cypress, The Woodlands, Plano, and Frisco are full of HOA neighborhoods with truck rules. The driver will meet you at the entrance or a nearby lot.
Acadiana and Southwest Louisiana Pickups
Lafayette, Lake Charles, Houma, and the smaller towns in between are easy off I-10 and I-49, but rural roads, narrow bayou bridges, and long gravel drives can be tough for a loaded carrier. The driver will meet you in town or on a main highway if your road won't work.
