Alabama to Mississippi Auto Transport
Shipping a Car From Alabama to Mississippi
This is about as close as interstate shipping gets. Mobile to Biloxi is roughly 60 miles, and Birmingham to Jackson is around 245. So why ship at all? Usually because you've got two cars and one driver, you're flying in for a new job, or you're sending a car to a student and don't want them making the drive alone.
We ship plenty of cars to students at Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Southern Miss. We also move cars for airmen at Keesler and Columbus Air Force Bases, sailors at NAS Meridian, and people taking jobs at the auto plants and shipyards across the state line.
Door-to-door, a final-price quote, and $0 due at booking.

The Route
How Cars Get From Alabama to Mississippi
From Birmingham, Jackson deliveries run I-20/59 through Tuscaloosa to Meridian, then I-20 the rest of the way. North Mississippi is reached on I-22, which goes straight to Tupelo, with Oxford a short drive west. Starkville and Columbus are usually reached on US-82 out of Tuscaloosa.
Along the Coast, it's just I-10 west from Mobile to Pascagoula, Biloxi, and Gulfport. Because the trip is so short, a lot of trucks on this lane are passing through on longer runs to Texas or Louisiana. A little flexibility on your pickup date makes it easier for us to catch one.

Timing
When to Ship Alabama to Mississippi
It's a short trip, but the calendar still matters, especially in the fall.
Football Saturdays
Home games in Oxford and Starkville flood those small towns with traffic. Weekday deliveries go much smoother in the fall.
Hurricane Season
June through November affects the Gulf Coast on both sides of the state line. Carriers wait out storms before moving.
Back to School
August move-in at Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Southern Miss is busy. Book early for a student.
Spring Storms
Severe weather and tornado warnings are common in both states in spring. Carriers pull over until it passes.
Pricing
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From Alabama to Mississippi?
Short routes cost less overall, but these things still move the price.
Distance
Mobile to Biloxi is barely an hour. Huntsville to Jackson is several hours. Your exact cities matter.
Date Flexibility
Short lanes often get covered by trucks passing through on longer trips. Flexibility helps us match you faster.
Rural Pickups & Deliveries
Delta towns and rural addresses far from I-20, I-22, or I-55 can take a little longer to schedule.

Open is the affordable standard. Enclosed is there for classics and high-end cars.

It depends on your exact pickup and delivery locations, vehicle size, open or enclosed transport, and how flexible your dates are. Request a free quote and you'll get a final price, good for 7 days.
Is it worth shipping a car such a short distance?
It often is when you're moving two cars, flying in, or sending a car to a student. Compare your quote to the time, gas, and return trip it would take to drive it yourself.
Can you ship a car to my student at Ole Miss or Mississippi State?
Yes. Book a couple of weeks before move-in, and avoid home game weekends if you can. Someone needs to meet the driver to check the car and sign for it.
Do I need an inspection to register my car in Mississippi?
No. Mississippi doesn't require safety or emissions inspections. You'll register at your county tax collector's office.
Can you ship a car from Mississippi back to Alabama?
Yes. Request a quote with your Mississippi pickup address and your Alabama delivery address. It's door-to-door either way.
Is my car insured during transport?
Yes. Every carrier we work with must carry active cargo insurance. Your car's condition is recorded on the Bill of Lading at pickup and checked again at delivery. Personal items left in the car aren't covered.
Do I have to pay upfront?
No. There's $0 due at booking. Once a carrier is assigned, you can pay a deposit and the balance to the driver at delivery by cash or check, or pay in full at that point.
