Shipping a Car From Idaho to Arizona
Boise to Phoenix is about 990 miles, south through Twin Falls and Nevada on US-93 and down through Las Vegas. Idaho Falls to Mesa is about the same, and Tucson is closer to 1,110. It's two to three days of driving.
This is one of Idaho's busiest snowbird routes. Every fall, Idahoans head to Mesa, Apache Junction, Sun City, and Yuma for the winter, and every spring they come home. It's also a big college route: a lot of BYU-Idaho students in Rexburg come from the Mesa and Gilbert area. We also ship for families leaving Phoenix summers for the Treasure Valley.
Door-to-door, a final-price quote, and $0 due at booking.

Timing
When to Ship Idaho to Arizona
Snowbird season runs this route.
Fall Snowbird Rush
October through December, southbound trucks fill up fast with Idahoans heading to Arizona. Book two or three weeks ahead.
Spring Return
March through May, northbound trucks fill up the same way. Ship against the flow if you can.
Summer Heat
Phoenix and the Nevada desert regularly top 110°F. Make sure the battery and tires are in good shape.
Winter on US-93
Snow in northern Nevada can slow trucks for a day. The I-15 route is usually the backup.
Pricing
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From Idaho to Arizona?
Here's what moves the price between Idaho and Arizona.
Distance
Phoenix is about 1,000 miles from Boise or Idaho Falls. Yuma and Tucson are a little farther.
Snowbird Demand
Fall southbound and spring northbound trips cost the most. Summer moves are often the best value.
Delivery Area
Mesa, Phoenix, and Tucson are easy. RV parks and 55+ communities may have gate rules.
Open or Enclosed
Open is the standard. Enclosed keeps sun and dust off a nicer car.
Vehicle Size
Pickups and full-size SUVs take more trailer space than sedans, so they cost more to ship.
Date Flexibility
A flexible window helps a lot during the snowbird rush.

Before You Ship & After You Arrive
A few Arizona-specific things worth knowing.
Registering in Arizona
New residents register with ADOT MVD. Out-of-state vehicles need a quick Level 1 inspection, and the Phoenix and Tucson areas require emissions testing for many vehicles. Check azdot.gov for current requirements.
Snowbird Round Trips
Book the fall trip south and the spring trip home together, and we'll plan both around your dates.
RV Parks and 55+ Communities
Many Mesa, Apache Junction, and Yuma parks have rules for big trucks. Share them when you book, or meet at the entrance.
Idaho Pickups
Long gravel ranch lanes, steep mountain driveways in places like Ketchum and McCall, and HOA truck rules in newer Treasure Valley subdivisions can keep a big carrier off your street. If so, the driver will set up a nearby meeting spot, usually a lot just off I-84, I-15, I-86, I-90, or US-95.

It depends on your exact pickup and delivery locations, vehicle size, open or enclosed transport, and the season. Request a free quote and you'll get a final price, good for 7 days.
When should I book my fall trip to Arizona?
Two or three weeks ahead if you're shipping in October or November. That's when southbound trucks fill up fastest.
Can you ship a car home from Rexburg for a BYU-Idaho student?
Yes. Give us the apartment address and the end of the semester, and we'll plan the pickup around move-out.
Is it cheaper to ship or drive from Idaho to Arizona?
Driving 1,000 miles is two long days through the desert. If you're flying down or moving two cars, shipping saves the trip.
Can you ship a car from Arizona back to Idaho?
Yes. Request a quote with your Arizona pickup address and your Idaho delivery address. It's door-to-door either way.
Is my car insured during transport?
Yes. Every carrier we work with is required to carry active cargo insurance. Your car's condition is documented on the Bill of Lading at pickup and checked again at delivery. Personal items left in the vehicle aren't covered.
Do I have to pay upfront?
No. There's $0 due at booking. Once a carrier is assigned, you can pay a deposit and the rest to the driver at delivery by cash or check, or pay in full at that point.
