Timing
When to Ship New Mexico to Texas
Panhandle weather and Gulf storms set the timing.
High-Country Winter
From December through March, snow on I-40 east of Albuquerque and around Santa Fe can push a pickup back a day.
Panhandle Wind
High winds and the odd winter storm across the Panhandle can slow a loaded truck.
Gulf Hurricane Season
From June through November, a storm can delay deliveries in Houston, Freeport, and along the coast.
Houston and Dallas Traffic
Rush hour on I-35E, I-45, and I-610 can add hours. Drivers time deliveries around it.
Pricing
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From New Mexico to Texas?
Here's what decides the price on a trip to Texas.
West Texas vs. the Metros
El Paso and Lubbock come first. Dallas, Austin, and Houston add 330 to 625 miles.
Storage or Port Prep
Need your car held at our Freeport lot before it ships out of Port Freeport? We'll quote the storage along with the transport.
Pickup Location
Albuquerque is best for Dallas. Las Cruces is best for El Paso, San Antonio, and Houston.
Suburban HOAs
Many Dallas, Austin, and Houston suburbs have truck rules.
Open or Enclosed
Open is standard. Enclosed keeps dust off a nicer car.
Busy Corridor
I-40 and I-10 carry a lot of trucks, which keeps availability good.
Your Quote Is Your Final Price
Texas is home for us, and we price these routes to move. What we quote is what you pay, with nothing due until a carrier is assigned.

Before You Ship & After You Arrive
What to know before your car heads to Texas.
Registering in Texas
New residents have 30 days to register with their county tax office. Texas ended safety inspections for most passenger vehicles in 2025, but emissions testing still applies in the major metro counties. Check txdmv.gov for current requirements.
Vehicle Storage & Port Freeport
Need somewhere to keep your car, or shipping it overseas? We can store vehicles at our lot in Freeport, Texas, and get them ready to go to Port Freeport to be shipped.
Texas Suburbs
Master-planned communities around Dallas, Austin, and Houston often restrict big trucks. The driver will meet you at the entrance or a nearby lot.
Las Cruces and Southern New Mexico Pickups
Las Cruces sits where I-10 meets I-25, which makes trips east and west easy. Deming is on I-10, and Silver City is a longer reach off US-180, so rural pickups there often mean meeting in town.
