Shipping a Car From Florida to Texas
Pensacola to Houston is about 550 miles, straight west on I-10. Orlando to Houston is closer to 965, Dallas is around 1,120, and San Antonio is about 1,165. It's two to three days of driving.
We're a Texas-based broker, and Florida to Texas is one of our busiest routes. The two biggest no-income-tax states trade people constantly, and there's a space connection, too: engineers move between Cape Canaveral and NASA's Johnson Space Center at Clear Lake. We also ship for Navy flight students moving from Whiting Field to Corpus Christi and Kingsville, and airmen heading to San Antonio. And we can store your vehicle at our lot in Freeport, Texas, and get it ready to go to Port Freeport if it's being shipped overseas.
Door-to-door, a final-price quote, and $0 due at booking.

The Route
How Cars Get From Florida to Texas
This is an I-10 route most of the way. Trucks head west from Jacksonville or come up the Turnpike and I-75 to join it, then cross the Panhandle, Mobile, and New Orleans into Houston. Clear Lake is just southeast of town, and Freeport and Port Freeport are about an hour south on TX-288.
San Antonio and El Paso are farther west on I-10, and Austin is reached on US-290 or I-35. Dallas loads usually leave I-10 for I-20 through Jackson and Shreveport, or take I-49 north from Lafayette.

Spring Storms

Pricing
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From Florida to Texas?
Here's what moves the price between Florida and Texas.
Distance
Houston is about 550 miles from the Panhandle and 965 from Orlando. El Paso from South Florida is closer to 1,950.
A Busy Lane
I-10 between Florida and Houston is one of the busiest car-shipping lanes in the South, which keeps prices competitive.
Delivery Area
Major metros are easy. The Rio Grande Valley and rural West Texas take more planning.
Open or Enclosed
Open is the standard. Enclosed keeps hail and heat off a nicer car.
Vehicle Size
Pickups and full-size SUVs take more trailer space than sedans, so they cost more to ship.
Storage or Port Prep
Need your car held at our Freeport lot before it ships out of Port Freeport? We'll quote the storage along with the transport.
Your Quote Is Your Final Price
We know Texas routes well, and we price them to move. What we quote is what you pay, with $0 due at booking.

Before You Ship & After You Arrive
A few Texas-specific things worth knowing.
Registering in Texas
New residents have 30 days to register with their county tax office. Texas ended safety inspections for most passenger vehicles in 2025, but emissions testing still applies in the major metro counties. Check txdmv.gov for current requirements.
Vehicle Storage & Port Freeport
Need somewhere to keep your car, or shipping it overseas? We can store vehicles at our lot in Freeport, Texas, and get them ready to go to Port Freeport to be shipped.
Moving With the Military
We ship for sailors, airmen, soldiers, and families moving from Whiting Field, NAS Pensacola, Eglin, and MacDill to NAS Corpus Christi, Kingsville, Joint Base San Antonio, and Fort Hood.
Florida Pickups
Gated communities, HOA truck rules, condo garages, and tight streets in places like Miami Beach and Key West can keep a carrier off your street. If so, the driver will set up a nearby meeting spot, usually a lot just off I-95, I-75, I-4, or the Turnpike.
