The Route
How Cars Get From California to Nevada
Las Vegas loads take I-15 over the Cajon Pass, through Barstow and Baker, and across the state line at Primm. Friday and Sunday traffic between LA and Vegas can be brutal, so midweek deliveries usually go faster.
Reno and Carson City loads from Northern California cross the Sierra on I-80 over Donner Pass or US-50 past Lake Tahoe. From Southern California, trucks usually go up US-395 along the east side of the Sierra.
