Shipping a Car From Arizona to Nevada

Phoenix to Las Vegas is only about 300 miles, one of the shortest routes we run. It's a five-hour drive across the desert and over the bridge at Hoover Dam. Reno is a different story: about 735 miles up the empty middle of Nevada.

Because Phoenix and Las Vegas are so close, a lot of moves go both ways between them. We ship cars for people taking jobs on the Strip and in Henderson, airmen going from Luke and Davis-Monthan to Nellis AFB, and students at UNLV and UNR. We also ship for anyone who'd rather not drive the desert in July.

Door-to-door, a final-price quote, and $0 due at booking.

The Route

How Cars Get From Arizona to Nevada

Las Vegas loads run northwest on US-93 through Wickenburg and Kingman, cross the Colorado River on the bridge beside Hoover Dam, and finish on I-11 into Henderson and Las Vegas. There's no faster way between the two cities.

Reno and Carson City are much farther. Most carriers go through Las Vegas and up US-95, about 450 miles of mostly two-lane desert highway. Others go through Southern California and up US-395 along the Sierra. Fewer trucks run to northern Nevada, so plan a little extra time.

Along the Way

  • Phoenix → Wickenburg~60 mi
  • Wickenburg → Kingman~135 mi
  • Kingman → Hoover Dam~75 mi
  • Hoover Dam → Las Vegas~30 mi

Timing

When to Ship Arizona to Nevada

Heat is the main thing to plan around on this route.

Summer Heat

Phoenix and Las Vegas both run 110°F and up from June through August. Be ready on time, and check the battery and tires.

Big Event Weeks

CES in January and major fights or races fill Las Vegas. Delivery near the Strip goes easier on other weeks.

Winter in the North

Reno and Carson City see snow, and US-395 and the passes near Lake Tahoe can close. Leave room in your schedule.

Spring & Fall

Pleasant weather on both ends. The easiest time to ship.

Pricing

How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From Arizona to Nevada?

This is a short route, so a few things matter more than usual.

Distance

Las Vegas is about 300 miles from Phoenix. Reno and Carson City are more than twice that.

Short-Haul Pricing

Short trips cost more per mile than cross-country ones, because loading and unloading take the same time either way.

Las Vegas vs. Northern Nevada

Vegas is one of the busiest lanes out of Phoenix. Reno, Elko, and rural Nevada have fewer trucks.

Open or Enclosed

Open is the standard. Enclosed is popular for exotics and show cars heading to Vegas.

Vehicle Size

Full-size trucks and SUVs take more trailer space than sedans, so they cost more to ship.

Date Flexibility

Lots of trucks run Phoenix to Vegas. A flexible day or two usually gets you the best price.

Your Quote Is Your Final Price

Short route or long, the price we quote is the price you pay. It's good for 7 days, with $0 due at booking.

Good to Know

Before You Ship & After You Arrive

A few Nevada-specific things worth knowing.

Registering in Nevada

New residents have 30 days to register with the Nevada DMV. Out-of-state vehicles need a VIN inspection, and cars in the Las Vegas and Reno areas need an emissions test. Check dmv.nv.gov for current requirements.

Moving With the Military

We ship for airmen and families going to Nellis AFB and Creech AFB, and for sailors heading to NAS Fallon.

High-Rise Deliveries

Many Las Vegas condo towers and gated communities don't allow carriers inside. The driver will meet you at the entrance or a nearby lot.

Exotic and Show Cars

Shipping to a Vegas show or auction? Enclosed transport keeps it clean and protected for the event.

The Process

How It Works

Simple, transparent, and nothing due until a carrier is on the way.

  1. 1

    Request Your Quote

Give us your Arizona pickup address, your Nevada delivery address, the vehicle, and your dates. You get a final price, good for 7 days.

  2. 2

    Book With $0 Down

Nothing is due when you book. We match your vehicle with a vetted carrier that has room on a truck headed to Nevada.

  3. 3

    Carrier Dispatched

Once a carrier is assigned, a deposit (or full payment, if you prefer) secures your spot. The driver inspects your car with you at pickup and notes its condition on the Bill of Lading.

  4. 4

    Delivered & Inspected

Look your car over with the driver in Nevada, sign off, and pay any remaining balance directly to the driver by cash or check.

Usually 1 to 2 days after pickup for Las Vegas, and 2 to 4 days for Reno and Carson City.

How much does it cost to ship a car from Arizona to Nevada?

It depends on your exact pickup and delivery locations, vehicle size, open or enclosed transport, and the season. Request a free quote and you'll get a final price, good for 7 days.

Why ship instead of driving from Phoenix to Las Vegas?

It's only five hours, but if you're moving two cars, flying in, or don't want the summer desert drive, shipping saves you the trip.

Do you deliver to Las Vegas high-rises and gated communities?

Yes. If a carrier can't get in, the driver will meet you at the entrance or a nearby lot.

Does Nevada require a vehicle inspection?

Out-of-state vehicles need a VIN inspection, and cars in the Las Vegas and Reno areas need an emissions test. Check with the Nevada DMV for your county.

Can you ship a car from Nevada back to Arizona?

Yes. Request a quote with your Nevada pickup address and your Arizona delivery address. Every shipment is door-to-door.

Is my car insured during transport?

Yes. Every carrier we work with must carry active cargo insurance. Your car's condition is recorded on the Bill of Lading at pickup and checked again at delivery. Personal items left in the car aren't covered.

Do I have to pay upfront?

No. There's $0 due at booking. Once a carrier is assigned, you can pay a deposit and the balance to the driver at delivery by cash or check, or pay in full at that point.
