Alabama to Nevada Auto Transport
Shipping a Car From Alabama to Nevada
Birmingham to Las Vegas is about 1,830 miles across Arkansas, Oklahoma, the Texas Panhandle, New Mexico, and northern Arizona. That's three or four long days of driving, ending in desert heat. Reno is another 440 miles north from Las Vegas.
Nevada pulls people from Alabama for a few big reasons: no state income tax, jobs in hospitality and construction, and a lot of retirees heading to Henderson and Summerlin. We also ship cars for airmen at Nellis Air Force Base and Creech, sailors at NAS Fallon, and students at UNLV and UNR.
Every shipment is door-to-door, with a final-price quote and $0 due until a carrier is assigned.

The Route
How Cars Get From Alabama to Nevada
Most trucks head west on I-22 to Memphis and then ride I-40 through Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Albuquerque, and Flagstaff. At Kingman, they turn north on US-93 over the Hoover Dam bypass bridge into the Las Vegas Valley. Some carriers take I-10 through Phoenix instead, especially from south Alabama.
Reno and Carson City are a different trip. Some trucks go up US-95 from Las Vegas across a lot of empty desert. Others come in from Northern California on I-80. Either way, northern Nevada deliveries take a little more lead time than Las Vegas.

Timing
When to Ship Alabama to Nevada
Desert heat and the Las Vegas events calendar both shape this route.
Summer Heat
Las Vegas regularly hits 110°F or more. Make sure your battery and tires are in good shape, and be ready on time at delivery.
Big Event Weeks
Major conventions and races can close streets and snarl traffic on and near the Strip. Ask us about timing if your delivery is close to the Strip.
Winter on I-40
Snow around Flagstaff and in the New Mexico high country can slow trucks. Reno and Carson City also get real winters.
Spring & Fall
Usually the easiest time to ship. Mild desert weather and steady carrier availability.
Pricing
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From Alabama to Nevada?
Here's what moves the price on this route.
Distance
Huntsville to Las Vegas is about 1,800 miles. Carson City is over 2,300.
Southern vs. Northern Nevada
Las Vegas is a busy market with plenty of trucks. Reno, Carson City, and rural Nevada take longer to schedule.
Season
Summer heat and winter snow on I-40 both affect timing. Spring and fall are usually smoothest.
Open or Enclosed
Open is the affordable standard. Enclosed keeps desert dust and sun off a classic or luxury car.
Vehicle Size
Full-size trucks and SUVs take more trailer space than sedans, so they cost a bit more to ship.
Date Flexibility
A flexible pickup window lets us catch a truck already running west on I-40.
Your Quote Is Your Final Price
We quote the real price up front. It won't change after you book, and nothing is due until a carrier is assigned.

Before You Ship & After You Arrive
A few Nevada-specific things worth knowing.
Registering in Nevada
New residents generally have 30 days to register with the Nevada DMV. Out-of-state vehicles need a VIN inspection, and cars in the Las Vegas and Reno areas need an emissions test. Check dmv.nv.gov for current rules.
HOAs & Gated Communities
Many Las Vegas and Henderson neighborhoods are gated or restrict large trucks. Share gate codes or a nearby meeting spot ahead of time.
Moving With the Military
We ship vehicles for airmen and families reporting to Nellis and Creech AFBs and sailors at NAS Fallon. Give us your report date and we'll plan around it.
Plan for a Gap
With 5 to 9 days in transit, you'll probably beat your car there. A few days of rental or rideshare covers the gap.
