Shipping a Car From Arizona to Colorado
Phoenix to Denver is about 900 miles the way trucks drive it, through Flagstaff, Albuquerque, and over Raton Pass. You go from Sonoran Desert to a city a mile high, and in winter you can see 100 degrees of temperature difference between pickup and delivery.
A lot of Arizona-to-Colorado moves are about escaping the summer heat. People trade Phoenix for Denver, Colorado Springs, or the mountains, or keep a second home in Colorado for the hot months. We also ship cars for soldiers moving to Fort Carson, Space Force members heading to Colorado Springs, and students at CU Boulder and Colorado State.
Door-to-door, a final-price quote, and $0 due at booking.

The Route
How Cars Get From Arizona to Colorado
Most trucks take I-17 to Flagstaff, I-40 east to Albuquerque, and then I-25 north through Santa Fe, over Raton Pass, and up the Front Range through Pueblo and Colorado Springs to Denver. Tucson pickups often come up through Las Cruces on I-25 instead.
Southwest Colorado is closer than people expect. Durango and Cortez are reached through the Four Corners area, and the Western Slope around Grand Junction is often reached through Utah. Mountain towns are doable, but steep roads and winter conditions may mean meeting the driver somewhere easier.
Along the Way
- Phoenix → Flagstaff~145 mi
- Flagstaff → Albuquerque~325 mi
- Albuquerque → Colorado Springs~380 mi
- Colorado Springs → Denver~70 mi
Approximate distances. The exact route depends on the carrier's other stops.
Timing
When to Ship Arizona to Colorado
Desert heat on one end and mountain snow on the other shape this route.
Early Summer
May and June are busy as people leave the Phoenix heat for Colorado. Book a week or two ahead.
Raton Pass in Winter
I-25 crosses Raton Pass on the New Mexico–Colorado line, and winter storms can close it for hours. Expect a wider window in winter.
Mountain Deliveries
From fall through spring, chain laws and snow can slow deliveries to ski towns and the high country.
Fall
Usually the easiest season to ship this route, with clear passes and good weather on both ends.
Pricing
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From Arizona to Colorado?
Where in Colorado you're headed matters as much as distance.
Distance
Phoenix to Durango is under 500 miles. Fort Collins is nearly double that.
Front Range vs. Mountains
Denver, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo are easy to reach. Ski towns and the high country take more time and planning.
Season
Summer demand and winter pass conditions both affect timing. Fall is usually smoothest.
Open or Enclosed
Open is the standard. Enclosed keeps winter mag chloride and road grime off a nicer car.
Vehicle Size
Full-size trucks and SUVs take more trailer space than sedans, so they cost a bit more to ship.
Date Flexibility
A flexible pickup window lets us catch a truck already running north on I-25.
Your Quote Is Your Final Price
The price we quote is the price you pay. It doesn't change after you book, and nothing is due until a carrier is assigned.

Before You Ship & After You Arrive
A few Colorado-specific things worth knowing.
Registering in Colorado
New residents generally have 90 days to register. Out-of-state vehicles need a VIN verification, and Denver-area and northern Front Range cars need an emissions test. Check your county motor vehicle office for details.
Moving With the Military
We ship cars for soldiers and families heading to Fort Carson and service members moving to Peterson, Schriever, Buckley, and the Air Force Academy.
Summer Homes
Spending summers in Colorado and winters in Arizona? We can move your car both directions each year.
Think About Tires
Colorado has winter traction laws on I-70 in the mountains. Desert tires that were fine in Phoenix may not cut it.

How much does it cost to ship a car from Arizona to Colorado?
It depends on your exact pickup and delivery locations, vehicle size, open or enclosed transport, and the season. Request a free quote and you'll get a final price, good for 7 days.
Can you ship my car to Colorado for the summer and back to Arizona in the fall?
Yes. Each direction is booked as its own shipment. Let us know both dates and we'll quote them separately.
Do you ship cars for military moves to Fort Carson?
Yes. We regularly ship for soldiers and families heading to Fort Carson and the Space Force bases around Colorado Springs.
Can you deliver to a mountain town?
Yes. Mountain deliveries take more planning, especially in winter. If your road can't fit a big truck, the driver will meet you nearby.

Yes. Request a quote with your Colorado pickup address and your Arizona delivery address. Every shipment is door-to-door.
Is my car insured during transport?
Yes. Every carrier we work with must carry active cargo insurance. Your car's condition is noted on the Bill of Lading at pickup and checked again at delivery. Personal items left in the car aren't covered.
Do I have to pay upfront?
No. There's $0 due at booking. Once a carrier is assigned, you can pay a deposit and the remaining balance to the driver at delivery by cash or check, or pay in full at that point.
