Phoenix to Pittsburgh is about 2,115 miles. Philadelphia is closer to 2,425, on the far side of the state. Either way, it's four or five long days, ending with the Pennsylvania Turnpike and its tunnels through the Alleghenies.
Pennsylvania sends a lot of winter residents to Arizona, and we ship many of their cars home to Pittsburgh, the Lehigh Valley, and the Philly suburbs every spring. We also move cars for health care and university jobs in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, students at Penn State and Pitt, and service members heading to Carlisle Barracks and the Army War College.

Timing
When to Ship Arizona to Pennsylvania
Snowbirds and mountain weather shape this route.
Spring Snowbird Season
Late March through May, Pennsylvanians head home and eastbound trucks fill up. Book 3 to 4 weeks ahead.
Mountain Winter
Snow and ice on the Turnpike and I-80 through the Alleghenies can slow trucks from December through March.
Penn State Weekends
Home football games pack State College. Deliveries there go smoother on non-game weekends.
Fall
Most trucks are heading into Arizona, so space going east is easy to find and prices are usually lower.
Pricing
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From Arizona to Pennsylvania?
Here's what moves the price on this cross-country route.
Distance
Western Pennsylvania is about 2,100 miles from Phoenix. Philadelphia is closer to 2,425.
City vs. Suburb
Suburban driveways are simple. Philly rowhouse blocks and steep Pittsburgh streets usually need a meeting spot.
Season
Spring is the busiest time to ship east out of Arizona. Fall is usually the best value.
Open or Enclosed
Open is the standard. Enclosed keeps road salt and winter grime off a nicer car.
Vehicle Size
Full-size trucks and SUVs take more trailer space than sedans, so they cost more to ship.
Date Flexibility
A flexible pickup window helps us catch a truck already headed east.
Your Quote Is Your Final Price
Turnpike tolls are already built in. The price we quote is the price you pay, with $0 due at booking.

Before You Ship & After You Arrive
A few Pennsylvania-specific things worth knowing.
Registering in Pennsylvania
New residents have 20 days to title and register with PennDOT. Pennsylvania requires an annual safety inspection, and many counties also require emissions testing. Check dmv.pa.gov for current requirements.
City Deliveries
Philadelphia rowhouse streets and Pittsburgh's steep, narrow hills are hard for a car carrier. The driver will coordinate a nearby lot.
Moving With the Military
We ship for service members and families moving to Carlisle Barracks, Letterkenny, and other Pennsylvania installations. Share your report date when you book.

It depends on your exact pickup and delivery locations, vehicle size, open or enclosed transport, and the season. Request a free quote and you'll get a final price, good for 7 days.
Can you deliver to a Philadelphia rowhouse?

Yes. Pennsylvania requires an annual safety inspection, and emissions testing applies in many counties. You have 20 days after moving to title and register.
Is it cheaper to ship or drive from Arizona to Pennsylvania?
Driving 2,100 to 2,400 miles means four or five days, hotel nights, gas, food, and tolls. For most people, shipping costs about the same or less.
Can you ship a car from Pennsylvania back to Arizona?
Yes. Request a quote with your Pennsylvania pickup address and your Arizona delivery address. Every shipment is door-to-door.
Is my car insured during transport?
