Alabama to Arkansas Auto Transport
Shipping a Car From Alabama to Arkansas
As interstate moves go, this one is short. Birmingham to Little Rock is about 375 miles, roughly six hours on I-22 and I-40. Headed to Bentonville or Fayetteville? Add about three more.
Short doesn't always mean easy, though. If you're moving two cars, flying ahead to start a new job, or just don't want to burn a weekend driving there and getting back, shipping is the simpler option. A lot of our Arkansas deliveries go to Northwest Arkansas, where people relocate for jobs around Bentonville and Rogers, and to Fayetteville for students at the University of Arkansas.
You get a final-price quote, door-to-door service, and $0 due at booking.

The Route
How Cars Get From Alabama to Arkansas
Most trucks leave Birmingham on I-22, which runs northwest through Jasper and Tupelo straight into Memphis. From there it's across the Mississippi River on I-40 to Little Rock. North Alabama pickups around Huntsville and the Shoals usually cut over to Memphis on US-72.
For Northwest Arkansas, carriers stay on I-40 to Fort Smith and turn north on I-49 toward Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville. Because this is a shorter lane, many of the trucks running it are on longer trips west, picking up a few cars in Alabama on the way. That's why a little flexibility on your pickup date goes a long way here.

Timing
When to Ship Alabama to Arkansas
There's no snowbird rush on this route, but weather and the school calendar both play a part.
Spring
March through May is severe storm season in both states. Carriers pull over for tornado warnings, which can push a pickup back a day.
Summer
The busiest moving season. If your dates are firm, request your quote a week or two ahead.
Back to School
Mid-August brings a wave of students to Fayetteville. Book early if you're shipping a car to a U of A student.
Winter
Real snow is rare, but an ice storm can shut down I-40 or I-22 for a day. Leave some wiggle room in January and February.
Pricing
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Car From Alabama to Arkansas?
Shorter routes cost less overall, but a few things still swing the price.
Distance
Huntsville to Jonesboro is under 300 miles. Montgomery to Fort Smith is more than twice that, so your exact cities matter.
Distance From the Interstate
Pickups and deliveries near I-22, I-40, and I-49 are the quickest to schedule. Rural Ozark addresses may take a little longer.
Date Flexibility
Many trucks on this lane are passing through on longer trips. A flexible pickup window lets us catch one, which usually means a better price.
Open or Enclosed
Open is the affordable, standard choice. Enclosed costs more and makes sense for classics and high-end cars.
Vehicle Size
Bigger trucks and SUVs take more room on the trailer, so they cost a bit more than a sedan.
Running Condition
Non-running cars need a winch to load and unload. Mention it when you request your quote.
Your Quote Is Your Final Price
We don't lowball you to get the booking and raise the price later. Your quote is the final price, it's good for 7 days, and you pay nothing when you book.

Before You Ship & After You Arrive
A few route-specific things that can affect your shipment.
Registering in Arkansas
New residents have 30 days to register. You'll generally need to assess the vehicle with your county assessor and show proof of insurance before the revenue office will register it. Check the Arkansas DFA website for the current checklist.
Northwest Arkansas Deliveries
Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, and Fayetteville are growing fast, and some newer subdivisions have tight streets. If a full-size carrier can't get in, the driver will meet you at a nearby open lot.
Shipping a Car to a Student
Parents often ship a car to Fayetteville so their student doesn't have to drive it across three states alone. Someone just needs to be there at delivery to look the car over and sign for it.
Moving With the Military
We ship vehicles for service members and families reporting to Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville.

FAQ
Alabama to Arkansas Car Shipping FAQs

Usually 1 to 3 days once your car is picked up. Little Rock deliveries are often next-day. Northwest Arkansas and rural deliveries can take a bit longer.
How much does it cost to ship a car from Alabama to Arkansas?
It depends on your exact pickup and delivery locations, vehicle size, open or enclosed transport, and how flexible your dates are. Request a free quote and you'll get a final price, good for 7 days.
Is it worth shipping a car only a few hundred miles?
Often, yes. Compare your quote to a full day of driving, gas, a hotel night or a flight back, and time off work. It makes even more sense if you're moving two vehicles or flying ahead.
Can you deliver to Bentonville and Fayetteville?
Yes. We deliver anywhere in Arkansas, including Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Jonesboro, Hot Springs, Conway, and Little Rock.
Can I ship a car to my student at the University of Arkansas?
Yes. Just make sure someone can meet the driver at delivery to check the car and sign the Bill of Lading.
Can you ship a car from Arkansas back to Alabama?
Yes. Request a quote with your Arkansas pickup address and your Alabama delivery address. Every shipment is door-to-door.
Is my car insured during transport?
Yes. Every carrier we work with must carry active cargo insurance. The driver documents your car's condition on the Bill of Lading at pickup, and you check it again together at delivery. Personal items left in the car aren't covered.
Do I have to pay upfront?
No. There's $0 due at booking. Once a carrier is assigned, you can pay a deposit and the balance to the driver at delivery by cash or check, or pay in full then so nothing is due at delivery.
